Few people have heard of Prion disease, until a month ago I hadn’t and I consider myself someone in the know. While you may not be familiar with the term Prion, you are likely familiar with the symptoms and the other diseases associated with it.

Early-Skull-Image-GraphicsFairy-1024x849Throughout the world, in industrialized area’s the symptoms are most pronounced in the elderly and is considered dementia, but many of the symptoms are also present in the middle age population and, in my opinion, is often misdiagnosed, or ignored completely. I wish that it could be said that those are the only age groups impacted by the symptoms of Prion Disease. We can observe hints of the damage in the young, as evident by the wide spread diagnosis of ADHD, ADD and Autism.

Prion Disease is the result of the formation of a Prion. A Prion, is a mis-folded protein. What causes mis-folded proteins and how they propagate, is not completely clear, but there is a heavy metals association. When a heavy metal is combined with certain chemicals the compound is made fat soluble. Once it is fat soluble it can be absorbed by living organisms through the skin or pores. What is clear, is that mis-folded proteins led to mutations in the biological structures resulting in diseases like; BSE, better know as Mad Cow disease, CJD, know as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, Kuru, the laughing disease, and GSS is an abbreviation for Gerstmann-Straussler-Scheinker disease. This list is only what is attributed to Prion disease.

What’s very telling is the symptoms of Prion disease and other disorders.

Perhaps the rise of these neurological disturbances is a coincidence or perhaps not. Over 2000 years ago the Romans poisoned themselves with lead. Even with the knowledge that exposure to lead could cause serious problems, they continued to use it in every aspect of their lives. The dangers were well documented in the United States by 1900. The US military listed lead a possible biological weapon against ground troops. This didn’t stop car companies in the 1920’s from adding lead to gasoline in the form of Tetraethyllead. In this form lead is fat soluble and people began getting sick, but the public was unaware of the true cause or scope of the symptoms or the problem. Lead was being used as an additive in large range of consumer products and continued to be used till 1970. The companies using the additives denied that it caused problems, and if wasn’t for the Government stepping in, we would have followed in the foot steps of the Roman Empire.

Today unfortunately, many Governments do not place the welfare of the public in high regard. We are being poisoned in small doses and the cumulative effect is being demonstrated via the neurological diseases which are exhibiting throughout the industrialized world. I don’t know what chemical compound is the trigger in the environment, but the clues to the source are all around us. For so many to be effected, it’s likely in our food, water and at times our air. If I’m correct, it would seem to point to an agricultural cause.

The why is easy, profits. Anytime an industry can produce more for less and increase their margins, they will precede with little regard for the welfare of others. It’s only when the voice of one is joined by the chorus of the many that the welfare of the people is put first.

The question is, what will you do? Will you simply shrug your shoulders and accept what is being done. That’s what they want you to do, nothing. I’ve done my part, I’ve raised the question, stated the concern, waved the red flag. You don’t have to choose to do nothing, you can take action, but will you?
